Costa Rica Tour
Local Dress and Styles
Costa Rica is influence much by American dress
and styles, however, don't forget that it has a
tropical climate and more relaxed, loose fit
clothing is apt for the hot days and cool
nights. Colombia has two coast lines, the
Pacific and the Caribbean
Regional Differences
The major city of San Jose has cultures more
similar to North American cities. You will find
the women of San Jose to be more independent,
mature and sophisticated then women from the
smaller cities and rural communities.
Along the coastal areas a more conservative
culture is prevalent, common for the women to
live with their mother and a family member or
two (applies to women who children also). If you
plan on meeting a women outside of the tour, she
may bring a friend along.
Your Appearance
As one would expect, prior to meeting you, the
Costa Rican Women will try to look their best
You should respect their efforts and return the
favor by dressing appropriately also.
In San Jose the dress is similar to major cities
in the US and Europe, though a little more
relaxed. Don't make the mistake of wearing
shorts in the city, while in the coastal beach
communities, shorts and sandals area acceptable,
at least for the day. At night, slacks and a
polo shirt are more appropriate.
And while the women will love you regardless of
what you wear, and how you look, you will have
more options and more enjoyment by dressing
appropriately and fitting in more.
Also, the local men wear their hair short, with
no facial hair. So prior to your trip; schedule
a trip to the barber!
Their Appearance
Generally speaking, the Costa Rican women will
dress more provocative then what is common in
North America.
So, just accept it as the local custom and try
not to take to much notice or comment on it.
Breast implants have become more common than in
the past, though Costa Rican women are generally
well endowed in that area and are not shy of
displaying their attributes. Don't make
the mistake of asking or staring. Once again, it
is best to accept it for what it is and try not
to notice or comment on their style or dress.
Dating in Colombia
Even though most of the women you will be
meeting have collage degrees and are working,
money is generally very tight. As a result, you
should offer and expect to pay for all taxi
fares for your dates. Taxis are very inexpensive
in Colombia, so this should not be a problem..
Dinner and drinks are also covered by the man.
And while Colombia is less expensive the North
America, you should budget for 3 dates a day to
play it safe.
Here is a little dinning advice, first of all,
you may want to order for the “table” if you are
dining at an ethnic restaurant (Sushi, Mexican,
etc.). It is entirely possible that your date
has never tried this food before and will
appreciate you ordering her something tasty.
Also, the Colombian diet is not very spicy
(tends towards bland), so spicy and hot food may
not be the best choice.
So, while you can obviously spend less, if you
budget for $100 to $200 a day for dating
expenses, you will have a better experience.
Your Attitude and Behavior
Please keep in mind that for many of these
women, just going to a restaurant for dinner is
a significant event. There is no need for you to
try to be entertaining or charming. Just relax
and be yourself. They will appreciate the
experience no matter what. Also, please keep in
mind that the women appreciate and value strong
and decisive men.
Drinking and Smoking
While Smoking is still permitted in Bars in
Colombia, it is banned most other indoor
facilities and restaurants. The majority of
Colombian women do not smoke, and to be
appealing to the maximum number of women, it is
best to be a non-smoker.
If you are a smoker,
please be aware that all our events are
non-smoking. This may include activities where
smoking is allowed by the establishment, but for
the enjoyment of your fellow guests and the
women, smoking will not be permitted during our
activities.
The national drink in Colombia, besides Coffee,
is Rum. And while many of the Colombian women
may be able to drink you under the table, it is
best not to drink too heavily while on a Singles
Tour.
